Gradient Nails

Out of boredom, I’ve decided to play with my nails. I’ve always fancied nail art, and I’ve watched tons of videos on youtube about it… but never had the guts time to actually try it out.

Since I’m a newbie to this, I’ve decided to an the “easy” nail art technique which is Gradient. But obviously, I call it Ombre since I have this mindset that anything two-toned is Ombre

Anyhow, my first attempt is an EPIC FAIL.

Honestly, I felt extremely sad because the outcome didn’t come near the promised result. But then again, this is what sparked my curiosity and made me want to try for more. And on a side note, my first attempt was actually on the right path. Unfortunately, I missed out the important finishing step which is the blending of color. Anyway, I’ll try to do this again some other time.

I was looking for an Ombre Nail Tutorial, but most of them took forever to finish. And I’m too lazy to listen, then I ended up seeing Gradient Nail Tutorial by Pixy Dust. It’s only a 2-minute long video but I got to say it’s a great video and I’ve learned the technique quite well (but, unfortunately, I still lack the talent in application).

After trying it out, here are my gradient nail results:

It didn’t come out as pretty as the one in the tutorial, but I’m still very proud of this ♥

LOL at the messy background. That’s actually my work place. I’ve decided to blot the nail polish on paper rather than directly applying it on my applicator sponge (which is done in the tutorial). I just have my own way of doing things.

Tada~!! Messy hand. Haha!

Of course, I need to do it on my right hand too (which is quite a pain). I’ve decided to do a green gradient on my right hand.

I think the right hand outcome looks better than the left.

It’s a definite pain to take a picture with your dominant hand as a subject. I was literally shaking while taking this picture.

And lastly, this is how they look:

They’re not the prettiest, I know, but I’m very proud of myself since I was able to complete a nail art tutorial for the first time ever! And the result came out pretty nice… just not that nice :))

It’s really fun to do this but quite messy (maybe I’m just messy in doing my own version? LOL! I dunno). And it’s really easy to do.
